Florida residents are expected to save at least $40 million during this weekend’s Tax Holiday.
Need to buy a computer? For noncommercial personal computers, and certain computer-related accessories, you will receive a sales tax exemption on the first $750 of the sales price. This exemption includes any electronic book reader, laptop, desktop, handheld, tablet or tower computer. However, it does not include cellphones, video game consoles, digital media receivers, or devices that are not primarily designed to process data.
You want more good news? The “related accessories” include keyboards, mice, personal digital assistants, monitors, except those with TV tuners, modems, routers and non-recreational software.
Sales tax exemption for clothing is $100 or less per item. Not bad at all.
